A simple charoset recipe for the traditional Passover staple. I always make a great deal extra to munch on for days! Mixture will turn the appropriate shade of brown to look like the mortar which it represents.
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and coarsely grated
1 cup walnuts, finely ground
2 tablespoons grape juice
2 teaspoons honey
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Mix apples, walnuts, grape juice, honey, and cinnamon together in a bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled, 8 hours to overnight.
